World of Rugs was established as a direct importer and wholesaler of handmade rugs — a distinction that still sets us apart today. Unlike retailers who buy from middlemen, we source rugs directly from weavers and artisans around the world, which means better selection and better prices for our customers.
After operating successful stores in Oregon, we relocated to Pennsylvania in 2008 and opened our flagship Robinson Township showroom in 2011. In 2026 we expanded to a second location in Pittsburgh's vibrant Strip District. Today our showroom is home to over 8,000 one-of-a-kind rugs — Persian, Oriental, contemporary, tribal, and more — along with a full-service cleaning and repair operation.

World of Rugs is owned and operated by Adam and Dana Razipour, who chose Pittsburgh as home to raise their family. Their sons Khalil and Kamran grew up surrounded by rugs, customers, and the values that drive this business every day.
Adam carries four generations of rug expertise in his family. As a direct importer, he personally travels abroad to hand-pick rugs — giving World of Rugs a distinct advantage in selection and pricing that simply can't be matched by retailers buying from middlemen.
Dana holds a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and brings over 17 years of experience with home furnishings. As she puts it, she "simply likes to make homes look pretty" — and it shows in every rug she helps a customer find.
