About us

Our company was established over 14 years ago as a direct importer/wholesaler of handmade rugs. We are known for providing high quality rugs at affordable prices. In 2008, we relocated to Pennsylvania after operating several successful stores in Oregon. Our main location in Pittsburgh opened in Robinson in 2011 and our business has grown tremendously since then.

Our Products:

Our inventory consists of over 4,000 hand selected, one-of-a-kind rugs from all over the world, including new and antique traditional Persians, decorative Orientals, contemporary, tribal rugs, and more. We have recently expanded our inventory to include brand name area rugs such as Karastan, which is proudly made in the USA.

In addition, we also carry hundreds of rugs that can be ordered in different colors and sizes along with many custom options tailored exactly to your needs.

Proprietors:

World of Rugs is owned and operated by Adam & Dana Razipour. They chose Pittsburgh as home to raise their sons, Khalil and Kamran, around family. Quality merchandise at competitive prices, a family friendly atmosphere, and treating customers with integrity ARE the FOUNDATIONS that the company is built upon.

Adam (Ahmad) has 4 generations rooted in rugs and he is also a direct importer. He enjoys traveling abroad to hand pick rugs that also gives the company an advantage on their selection and prices.

Dana is an Interior Designer, with a Bachelors degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. She has over 17 years of experience with home furnishings. As she puts it, she “simply likes to make homes look pretty.”
